Baby Bedding

Now that we know we are having a girl, we have been trying to decide what bedding to get. The problem is that everything is just so darn cute! Here are some of the ones we are considering. (Some of the pictures don't look as cute as they do in person...)

Jessi's Jungle

Tropical Punch

Lady Bug

Jacana

Abby's Farm

After our big ultrasound...

...It's a girl!!

We are so excited to finally find out the sex, mostly because we were getting tired of calling the baby "it." Now we are trying to get used to calling the baby "she." She weighed approximately 12 ounces and is in the 47th percentile, which is right in the middle and about where she should be. Everything looks normal so far, but the tech wasn't able to get pictures of a couple things in the heart that the doctor needed so we will go back for another ultrasound in a month...which is fine with me!

The whole time during the ultrasound, she was sleeping face down and we couldn't get her to turn her head so we don't really have a good profile picture of her yet. Right now she is head down with her legs curled around to the upper right part of my stomach, which would explain the wierd feelings I was having in that area a couple days ago. And it totally makes sense that her head is down because I'm pretty certain it's right next to my bladder. Here are some of the pictures we got of her yesterday....

One More Chance!

So everyone has one more chance to vote on whether or not baby is a boy or a girl...tomorrow we go for our anatomy scan and will hopefully find out the sex, assuming baby cooperates. So far, "girl" is winning...any last thoughts?

Pregnancy Pics

We have been really bad about remembering to take pictures of the baby belly, but we do have a few that I wanted to share. They are also on Facebook.

This is at approximately 7 weeks, 6 days.

Yes, I know I'm a dork...

...but I'm going to post the list of books that I read in 2009 anyway! Last year, my goal was to read 13 books and I actually ended up reading 17, several of them being my grad school textbooks that I literally read cover to cover.

1. Twilight by Stephanie Meyer
2. Wizard of the Upper Amazon by F. Bruce Lamb
3. New Moon by Stephanie Meyer
4. Eclipse by Stephanie Meyer
5. Breaking Dawn by Stephanie Meyer
6. The Scalpel and the Silver Bear by Lori Arviso Alford
7. Woman Who Glows in the Dark: A Curandera Reveals Traditional Aztec Secrets of Physical and Spiritual Health – Avila and Parker
8. Popular Music in Mexico by C. A. Geijerstam
9. Theory and Practice of Group Counseling by Gerald Corey
10. One Dance in Paris by Julia Holden
11. The Wives of Bath by Wendy Holden
12. The Buenos Aires Broken Hearts Club by Jessica Morrison
13. Essential Psychopathology and Its Treatment by Jerrold S. Maxmen, Nicholas G. Ward, and Mark Kilgus
14. The Mental Status Exam Explained (2nd ed.) by David J. Robinson, MD
15. The Personality Disorders Explained (2nd ed.) by David J. Robinson, MD
16. Ethical Thinking in Music Therapy by Cheryl Dileo, PhD, MT-BC
17. The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb

This year, I want to read at least 13 again and I expect a lot of the books will be school-related and baby-related, though I am forever trying to keep up on reading for pleasure. Maybe I'll get a chance to read more this summer while I'm on maternity leave...then again, maybe not!
